Event Details

“The recent severity and extent of bleaching events poses a significant threat to the integrity of Hawai‘i’s coral reefs. Colors on the Hawaiian Koʻa Card have been linked to the physiological state and health of common coral species. This provides a simple and effective technical solution for citizen scientists, educators, researchers, and managers to be involved in determining management efficacy, identifying resistant regions and species, establishing baselines, executing rapid response plans, and tracking coral recovery. Be part of the solution to make a difference for our coral reefs!”
