I immediately liked Missy Owens, the boutique owner and curator. She is enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about supporting local designers. Her boutique’s reputation is well known to the downtown work crowd because of the relaxing vibe. This vibe encourages patrons to take their time among the carefully selected collection of merchandise. Adorned with a wide assortment of items such as pet accessories, kid gifts, jewelry, houseware, books, candles, scents, clothing and more – Chrissy could have shot images all day!
Aside from loving to take pictures, Chrissy is a discerning shopping enthusiast who looked at everything in the store. Our modus operandi in shopping situations is best described in cycling terms – Chrissy is the “pull” while I follow “on her wheel”. Any item that catches her eye generally piques my curiosity. My favorite thing she raved about were the stunning flour sack cotton tea towels. Printed with images of recognizable places in Hawaii, we were equally charmed. The high quality tea towels were soft to the touch, vibrantly colored and completely functional. Beauty and functionality are so irresistible!
Chrissy’s pictures capture a good sample of the cool & hard to find merchandise that make it worth the trip to the Historic Arts District in Chinatown. Gifts are available in all price ranges, many for under $20, making it ideal for “just a little something” or a “thinking of you” gift. owens & co – a cool place with an abundance of attractive unique gifts in charming packages.
